I have just learned a new term that I really dislike. You may have heard it before but I had never heard the expression 'butterface' or 'buttaface'. For those of you who don't know this term it is used to describe a person who has a good body but not attractive face. You know, replaces 'nice body, shame about the face'.
How are we ever going to teach young people, especially girls, that looks are not everything when these kinds of expressions keep popping up.
The term is just an extension of 'buttface' and it applies to both men and women. Is it any wonder that plastic surgions are doing such a roaring trade when we are all made to feel we must aim for perfection or we will miss out on the best things in life.
Will the human race ever evolve to a level of maturity that can see each person as a complete package and disregard completely their physical appearance?
There are many people in the world who are overweight. Saudi Arabia 72.5% of the population, US 66.5% and Australia 49% are overweight and I have to wonder is this the result of name calling? Are these people turning to over eating because their self esteem is low?
Lets start looking at the beauty that lies within us all rather than judging people by what is after all only skin deep.
