TIME FLIES

Have you noticed as you get older time goes faster?  It seems like only a few weeks since I was planning Christmas 2010 and now I have to start thinking about Christmas 2011.  Have you ever wondered how you can slow down the passage of time?

I have a theory about why time seems to fly as we get older.  I think it is because we lose our anticipation.
As children we looked forward to our next birthday, to Christmas or Easter or the school holidays or just a trip to the beach next weekend.  The time dragged by and we felt the time of our hugely anticipated event would never arrive.

As we get older we don't look forward to getting another year older and those of us with children wish the school holidays were shorter and further apart.  Working mums find school holidays hard to manage.  They have to find someone to look after the children so they can contiue working and that usually means paying out most of their wages in child care. Christmas is another huge expense and Easter means hyperactive little horrors stuffed full of chocolate.

I have come to the conclusion that the best way to slow down the clock is to have things that you look foreward to with eager anticipation.  It doesn't have to be huge or  expensive; it can be as simple as a long luxurious bubble bath, a glass of wine and a good book while you revel in the luxury of  some time at home alone.  Whatever it is revel in the anticipation.

Grab each day and squeeze every ounce of enjoyment you can out of it.  You may not be here for a long time so be sure you make it a good time.
