Hi everyone!!! Yes I am back, after a long silence while I travelled around Australia.
Since retiring and settling down again after my trip I find I have less spare time than when I was working and I wonder how many other retirees are as busy as I am. I cannot understand people who say, "I'm bored".
How on earth can anyone find the time to get bored when there are so many wonderful books to read, games to play, things to learn, charities to support with fund raising or helping people who are unable to help themselves and above all else, life to live.
We are not here to just exist and plod from day to day, we are here to live, so get out there and live. Join a sport, a club, a group, get some hobbies and interests and ring every ounce out of every day that you have left and who knows how many that is.
I play bowls and as one elderly gentleman who was playing against me said to me last week, "I give thanks every day that I am not looking up at the grass yet.", then he won the game with an awesome amount of skill.
How elderly did I hear you ask? The gentleman was 95 and still full of the joy of life.
